When buying a press brake, what kind of workpiece the buyer needs to fold determines what kind of mold the buyer needs to choose. This article will briefly introduce how to choose the mold of the press brake.
How to choose the lower die of the press brake
S plate thickness, in mm
B Minimum bending width, in mm
F is the required bending force, the unit is KN/m: it needs to be calculated according to the bending strength and thickness of the plate to be processed.
R Bending radius, in mm
V The opening width of the lower die notch, the unit is mm: the width of the lower die notch needs to be calculated according to the plate thickness width S, and the specific formula is as follows:
S≤3mm V=(6~8)x S
S>3mm V=(8~12)x S
Due to the different workpieces that each manufacturer needs to process, the minimum bending width and bending angle will vary. These two values also determine the opening width of the lower die slot. In the bending process, the bending force is concentrated on the worktable and the mold, so it is very important to calculate the bending force that the mold can withstand, otherwise the mold will be damaged because it cannot withstand the bending force.
How to choose the upper die of the press brake
When selecting the upper die of the press brake, it is also necessary to select according to the bending force to avoid overloading the bending die. If the above formula cannot be used to calculate the bending force when purchasing a special-shaped bending die, the calculation method of the special-shaped die is completely different from that of the standard die.
In addition, when installing the upper and lower dies of the press brake, workers need to avoid the dangerous area of the machine.
1. Do not allow the handle to pass through the mold
2. In order to avoid accidents, when installing the upper and lower molds, the start button should be adjusted to the second control position, and the NC drive button should be adjusted to "axis stop". When installing the lower die, pay attention to adjusting the tightening bolts. Slowly move the slider down until the slider and the die are separated by a distance of one sheet.
